Position Overview
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Business Intelligence & Data Analytics Specialist to support the Animal Health Global Supplier Management (AH-GSM) organization. This role will drive procurement analytics, supplier data management, reporting, and data governance initiatives while supporting the ongoing evolution of the organization's data infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in Power BI, Databricks, SQL, Excel, and data governance practices, along with a solid understanding of procurement operations and supplier management processes. This individual will partner with category leaders and business stakeholders to deliver actionable insights, improve data quality, and establish a reliable source of truth across procurement data assets.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Analytics & Business Intelligence
β’ Conduct spend analysis, price analysis, volume-versus-price assessments, and other procurement-focused analytical projects.
β’ Support category management teams through detailed data investigations and actionable business insights.
β’ Develop, maintain, test, and enhance Power BI dashboards and reporting solutions.
β’ Deliver high-impact analytical "quick wins" that support strategic procurement decisions.
Data Governance & Documentation
β’ Build and maintain comprehensive data dictionaries and metadata documentation.
β’ Establish and support a centralized, trusted source of truth for procurement and supplier data.
β’ Document data structures, business definitions, and reporting logic for business stakeholders.
Databricks & Data Management
β’ Manage Databricks schemas, tables, and data models to support evolving business requirements.
β’ Perform schema updates, column alignment, renaming activities, and data audits.
β’ Write and execute basic SQL queries to validate, analyze, and maintain data integrity.
β’ Support migration and transformation efforts related to data infrastructure modernization.
Data Quality & Standardization
β’ Cleanse and standardize supplier, spend, and procurement datasets.
β’ Maintain consistent taxonomies, categories, and classification structures across data assets.
β’ Identify and resolve data quality issues to improve reporting accuracy and usability.
Process Improvement & Automation
β’ Leverage AI-powered productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, and prompt engineering techniques to streamline workflows and automate routine documentation tasks.
β’ Recommend improvements to reporting, analytics processes, and data management practices.
Required Qualifications
β’ Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Engineering, or a related field.
β’ Minimum of 3 years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, project management, systems implementation, or a related discipline.
β’ Strong experience with Power BI, including dashboard development, testing, enhancement, and reporting.
β’ Working knowledge of Databricks, data models, schema management, and table maintenance.
β’ Proficiency in SQL, including writing basic queries and supporting data validation activities.
β’ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:
β’ Pivot Tables
β’ VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP
β’ Power Query
β’ Large dataset analysis and manipulation
β’ Experience performing procurement analytics, including spend and price analysis.
β’ Strong understanding of data governance, data documentation, and master data management concepts.
β’ Excellent communication, presentation, and technical documentation skills.
β’ Ability to translate complex data structures and analytical findings into clear business insights.
β’ Familiarity with AI-driven productivity tools and prompt engineering methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
β’ Experience supporting procurement, sourcing, supplier management, or category management functions.
β’ Knowledge of supplier master data and spend taxonomy management.
β’ Experience developing data standards and governance frameworks.
β’ Exposure to enterprise-scale data migration or transformation initiatives.
