Role description
Title: Power BI Developer
Location: Remote- Preference for candidates in Wisconsin, all work must be done on CST time.
Duration: 2-3 months with ongoing work as needed
General Summary:
AE Business Solutions is seeking an experienced Power BI Developer to further the design, and development of our Power BI reporting infrastructure. This role would likely consist of 2-3 months of more intensive, analysis, design and development work, followed by ongoing support, maintenance, and modifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance existing data model and optimize reporting capabilities
• Design, build, and maintain interactive Power BI reports, robust data models, and compelling visualizations.
• Proactively identify and resolve reporting challenges, offering innovative solutions.
• Contribute to the strategic development of AE’s Power BI roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Establish and document clear operational procedures for Power BI usage and maintenance.
• Provide expert-level technical insight and troubleshooting for Power BI challenges surrounding adoption and roll-out.
• Conduct comprehensive training sessions to empower end-users with Power BI proficiency.
• Implement and enforce stringent security protocols for Power BI data and access.
Qualifications:
• A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in Power BI design, development, implementation, and integration with the MS suite and other applications.
• Tableau experience a positive in as much as understanding legacy dashboards that already exist and building more modern dashboards in Power BI
• Experience with Microsoft Dataverse as well as familiarity with Dynamics 365 data from CRM (Sales and Project Operations) and ERP (Business Central) applications
• Understanding of sales, financial and project management metrics and KPIs
• Understanding of DAX for performing calculations
• Understanding of Row-level security (RLS) for access restriction
• Proficiency with Power Query for data transformation and query optimization
• Familiarity with snowflake schema data modeling
• Understanding of Microsoft Fabric for Power BI helpful but not necessary
