Business Intelligence Developer

Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer Location: New York City, NY (Hybrid – 3 days onsite) Employment Type: W2 Contract About the Role: We are seeking a Senior Power BI Developer to design and build end-to-end reports and dashboards that deliver high performance and clean visualizations. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in data modeling, DAX, Power Query, and SQL, with a focus on Redshift integration and query optimization. Responsibilities: • Develop and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards emphasizing high performance and usability. • Build robust data models (Star Schema) and write complex DAX calculations. • Integrate data from multiple sources (SQL, cloud warehouses, APIs) using Power Query (M Language). • Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate complex reporting needs into technical requirements. • Manage Power BI Service environment, including deployment, data refresh, and Row-Level Security (RLS). • Remediate issues related to Redshift connectivity and query performance. • Ensure clean, maintainable, and well-documented solutions. Required Skills & Experience: • 10+ years of experience in Power BI development / Reporting. • Expertise in DAX, dimensional data modeling, and Star Schema. • Strong SQL skills for data extraction and manipulation. • Experience with Redshift and query tuning. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Preferred: • Experience with additional cloud data warehouses or ETL tools. • Exposure to large-scale enterprise reporting environments.
