Role description
We are looking for a skilled BI Developer to join our data team. In this role, you will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing our data pipelines and reporting solutions. You will work extensively within the Microsoft Data Stack, specifically focusing on Power BI and Azure services to deliver high-quality analytics to the business. This is a perfect role for a professional who has mastered Power BI and is now expanding their expertise into cloud data engineering with Azure Data Factory and Microsoft Fabric. Core Responsibilities β€’ Report Development: Design and develop end-to-end Power BI reports, from data ingestion and transformation to final visualization. β€’ Data Pipeline Management: Build and monitor ETL/ELT processes using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Azure Synapse Analytics. β€’ Data Modeling: Create and maintain efficient tabular/semantic models that support self-service BI across the enterprise. β€’ Optimization: Troubleshoot and optimize existing reports and queries to ensure high performance and data accuracy. β€’ Insight Generation: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends and provide stakeholders with clear, actionable insights. Technical Skills β€’ Primary Tools: Power BI (Desktop & Service), Azure Data Factory, and Microsoft Fabric. β€’ Data Warehousing: Familiarity with Azure Synapse Analytics and cloud storage concepts. β€’ Query Languages: Strong proficiency in SQL and DAX. Knowledge of Python or R is considered a strong asset. β€’ Design: Solid understanding of star schemas, data normalization, and semantic layer design. Experience & Qualifications β€’ 5+ years of hands-on experience in Power BI, including data modeling, transformations (Power Query), and measures. β€’ 3+ years of experience working with Azure Cloud services (ADF, Synapse, or SQL Database). β€’ Experience with Microsoft Fabric or a strong desire to transition BI workloads into a Fabric environment. β€’ Total of 7–10 years of experience in business intelligence or data analysis roles. β€’ Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
