Role description
Our client is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer to help design, build, and scale modern BI solutions on top of a cloud-based data warehouse. This role is ideal for someone who has hands-on experience engineering BI systems and data-driven reporting environments, rather than simply building static reports. This individual will play a key role in transforming legacy reporting into scalable, cloud-based dashboards and self-service analytics tools, with a strong focus on supporting Market and Credit Risk reporting in a Capital Markets environment. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise across Snowflake, Sigma, SQL, and data modeling, along with a solid understanding of end-to-end BI architecture and implementation. Key Responsibilities: • Build and engineer scalable Business Intelligence systems on top of a cloud data warehouse • Convert traditional or legacy reporting into modern cloud-based dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools • Design and deliver self-service BI solutions that empower business users and stakeholders • Develop and optimize data models, reporting layers, and BI architecture to support scalable analytics • Partner closely with both business and technology teams to deliver reporting solutions aligned with business needs • Support the development of risk reporting solutions, with a focus on Market Risk and Credit Risk use cases • Ensure BI solutions are designed for usability, scalability, and long-term maintainability • Leverage modern development tools and AI coding assistants/agents to improve development efficiency and productivity Required Qualifications: • Proven experience in engineering and building BI systems, not just creating reports or dashboards • Hands-on experience with cloud BI platforms, including: Sigma (required), Astrato (strongly preferred) • Strong experience with Snowflake • Advanced SQL and data modeling skills • Strong understanding of BI architecture and end-to-end implementation • Experience working with Market Risk and/or Credit Risk data • Background within Capital Markets or broader Financial Services • Experience using AI coding assistants or AI development tools
