Business Intelligence Engineer

BI Engineer (Contract – Remote, U.S.) Start Date: November 24, 2025 Engagement Type: Contract (W-2 or 1099) Location: Remote (U.S.-based) Duration: Through March 2026, with potential extension Overview We’re looking for a Business Intelligence Engineer to join a growing data and analytics team on a high-impact enterprise initiative. The ideal candidate combines strong technical BI development skills with a passion for transforming data into clear, actionable insights. This role involves developing and optimizing Looker dashboards and data models, streamlining SQL and dbt transformations, and improving overall data accessibility for analytics stakeholders across the organization. What You’ll Do • Build and refine data models, dashboards, and visualizations in Looker (LookML) or comparable BI platforms. • Optimize SQL and dbt transformations for scalability and performance. • Improve query efficiency and implement cost-optimization strategies in Snowflake. • Design and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines using tools such as Fivetran, Airflow, or similar. • Collaborate with analysts, engineers, and business partners to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Contribute to documentation, governance standards, and user training materials. What We’re Looking For • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, or Analytics roles. • Hands-on experience with Looker, Snowflake, and dbt (or equivalent tools). • Strong SQL and data-modeling skills (dimensional/star schema). • Proven track record of optimizing dashboards and analytical workflows. • Experience with Git/GitHub and Agile collaboration tools (e.g., Jira). Bonus Points For: • Looker Developer or Delivery Manager Certification. • SnowPro Core Certification. • Prior consulting or multi-client project experience. • Familiarity with cloud data environments (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
