POSITION SUMMARY
The Business Systems Principal Analyst, R&D Quality is responsible for standardizing operations, processes, data, and technology to enhance the capabilities and outcomes of R&D Quality teams. This includes quality oversight across GCP, GLP, GVP, Research, and Real-World Evidence/Data functions. The goal is to build a robust, data-driven ecosystem that supports strategic decision-making and aligns with broader quality and compliance objectives.
This role will support the development and delivery of quality-focused data tools and analytics, such as dashboards and reports, and provide guidance on business intelligence strategy. The individual will collaborate across RDQA, analytics, quality, and IT functions to implement solutions that improve data accessibility, transparency, and governance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Contribute to the development and execution of RDQA analytics strategies and information management frameworks to enable effective governance and data-informed decision-making.
• Lead or support the design and implementation of dashboards, data visualizations, and reporting tools for various quality and compliance use cases.
• Act as a business analyst and technical/project lead on initiatives related to data integration, access, and reporting infrastructure.
• Translate complex data sets and insights into actionable information for diverse stakeholder audiences.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality of key data sources supporting the quality reporting landscape.
• Support analytics-related change management, training, and data literacy efforts across the organization.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in data analytics for cross-functional projects.
• Contribute to and support broader quality and analytics initiatives that align with organizational goals.
• Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in analytics and their applications to quality and compliance functions.
• Perform additional related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES
• Proficient in data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau, and experience with analytics platforms like Snowflake, Python, or R.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams, SharePoint, and Smartsheet.
• Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven recommendations.
• Familiarity with GxP regulations and the drug development lifecycle.
• Knowledge of quality systems and platforms commonly used in regulated environments (e.g., Veeva).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and deliver high-quality results under minimal supervision.
• Experience facilitating training or creating user support tools to enhance data literacy and system adoption.
• Demonstrated project management and cross-functional collaboration skills.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Data Science, Life Sciences, or a related field with 5–7 years of relevant technical experience; or
• Master’s degree in a related field with 3–5 years of experience.
• Experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industries, especially in applying analytics to solve business or compliance challenges, is strongly preferred.
