Category Analyst | Onsite – Atlanta, GA | Long-Term Contract
We’re currently partnering with a leading client in the Rail, Transportation, Logistics & Supply Chain industry seeking a highly analytical Category Analyst to join their Category Management team in Atlanta, GA.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong experience in category management, procurement analytics, sourcing strategy, supply chain analysis, or data analytics backgrounds—especially those with engineering, finance, economics, or technical degrees.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform spend analysis, supplier analysis, and market research
• Analyze market trends, benchmarks, cost drivers, and sourcing opportunities
• Develop category strategies, negotiation models, and supplier scorecards
• Build total cost of ownership (TCO) and sourcing evaluation models
• Support strategic sourcing initiatives and procurement optimization
• Monitor supplier KPIs, contract compliance, and category performance
• Partner cross-functionally with sourcing, procurement, and operational teams
Preferred Background:
• 3–5+ years of experience in category management, sourcing, procurement analytics, or data analysis
• Strong analytical and visualization skills using:
Power BI, Tableau, Python, SQL, Alteryx, QlikView, etc.
• Experience with strategic sourcing, supplier management, spend analytics, and procurement processes
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills
• Rail, logistics, transportation, or supply chain industry experience is a plus
