Employment Type: W2 Contract
Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled CDP Data Engineer to join our Data & Analytics team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDP), data modeling, ETL/ELT pipelines, and cloud-based data warehousing. This role involves end-to-end data management — from collection and unification to segmentation and activation — enabling data-driven marketing and business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Data Collection
• Design and implement data collection pipelines from multiple sources into the CDP.
• Ensure data quality, consistency, and completeness during ingestion.
• Collaborate with source system teams to define and document data schemas.
Data Unification / Identity Resolution (IDR)
• Build and maintain identity resolution frameworks to unify customer profiles across channels.
• Implement data deduplication and matching logic using CDP capabilities.
• Work with business stakeholders to define unified customer identity rules.
Segmentation
• Develop and manage audience segments within the CDP for targeted campaigns.
• Partner with marketing teams to translate business requirements into technical segmentation logic.
• Monitor and optimize segment performance and refresh rates.
Activation
• Integrate CDP segments with downstream activation platforms (ad platforms, CRM, email, etc.).
• Configure and manage data flows from CDP to activation channels using tools like Hightouch.
• Ensure timely and accurate data delivery for marketing activation use cases.
Required Skills (Must Have)
• Functional knowledge of CDP platforms (e.g., Segment, Adobe CDP, Tealium, or similar).
• Proficiency in Snowflake SQL for data analysis, transformation, and querying.
• Strong experience in Data Modeling — designing efficient, scalable data models.
Preferred Skills (Good To Have)
• Experience with Hightouch or similar reverse ETL tools for data activation.
• Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines and workflow orchestration.
• Working knowledge of REST APIs and API-based integrations.
• Familiarity with data governance, privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA), and consent management.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or related field.
• 3–6 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and business teams.
Nice to Have
• Experience in media, entertainment, or e-commerce domain (AETN context).
• Knowledge of dbt (data build tool) for data transformation.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
