Role description
About FieldFLEX FieldFLEX is the leading enterprise mobile EAM/CMMS platform purpose-built for IBM Maximo and TRIRIGA. Our fully offline-capable mobile apps and high-performance Node.js + PostgreSQL integration servers deliver 50× faster data synchronization, zero data loss, and seamless field execution for the world’s largest asset-intensive organizations — including U.S. federal agencies.
Role Overview We are seeking an experienced, security-cleared DevOps Engineer to own the installation, configuration, hardening, and ongoing operational reliability of the FieldFLEX mobile platform when deployed alongside government-hosted IBM Maximo Application Suite (MAS) 9 instances. Note: In this role you will have the full support of FieldFLEX DevOps and platform teams. You will NOT be responsible for configuring or modifying the government’s MAS 9 environment — your scope is exclusively the FieldFLEX stack and its secure connectivity into the customer’s Maximo system.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform repeatable, secure installations of the FieldFLEX platform on customer-controlled Linux servers.
• Deploy, configure, and performance-tune PostgreSQL 16 (stand-alone or managed) with encryption-at-rest, TLS 1.3, and FIPS compliance.
• Deploy and manage the FieldFLEX Node.js-based server using PM2 and systemd.
• Support the configuration of secure server-to-server connectivity between FieldFLEX and government Maximo MAS 9 (OSLC & MIF endpoints) performed by others.
• Implement and troubleshoot enterprise SSO with federal identity providers.
• Configure and validate DNS record in customer or agency-managed zones.
• Configure elastic load balancer (application load balancer) and setup SSL.
• Conduct log analysis and troubleshooting for sync performance, authentication failures, and integration issues.
• Configure automated patch and update deployments and roll-backs.
• Document configurations for FedRAMP/FISMA/NIST 800-53 compliance packages and support ATO processes.
• Participate in on-call rotation (light) and provide Tier-3 support for production FieldFLEX deployments.
Required Qualifications
• Active U.S. government clearance (or higher) — must be currently active and transferable.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Experience installing and hardening PostgreSQL and Node.js applications on RHEL.
• Proven expertise configuring enterprise SSO (SAML 2.0 and OpenID Connect) with various IdPs.
• DNS management experience.
• Proficiency with Linux system administration, systemd, firewalls (iptables/nftables/firewalld), and TLS certificate management.
• Solid scripting skills (Bash, and Python).
• Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills; ability to document processes clearly for audit and onboarding.
Highly Desired
• Current or recent Maximo integration experience (OSLC, MIF, REST APIs)
• CompTIA Security+, AWS DevOps Professional, or similar certifications
• Experience supporting ATO packages under NIST 800-53 / FedRAMP Moderate or High
What We Offer
• Competitive salary (commensurate with clearance level and experience)
• Generous benefits
• Remote work, no travel required.
• Opportunity to own the entire FieldFLEX deployment lifecycle on high-visibility federal program.
• Work with a small, high-impact team that ships enterprise mobile solutions used by thousands of federal field technicians daily
• To apply: Submit resume and clearance verification (JPAS/DISS screenshot or statement of active clearance) to careers@fieldflex.com with subject line “Cleared DevOps Engineer – FieldFLEX Federal”.
