End Client: State of South Carolina Job Title: Azure Cloud Architect Duration: 12 Months (Possible Extension) Location: Fully Remote with occasional onsite visits required (Columbia, SC 29201) Hours Per Week: 40 Interview Type: 1 Round – Virtual or Onsite (for local resources) Ceipal ID: SSC_AZUR087_SN Job Code: 13087 Department: Division of Enterprise Application (DEA) Scope of Project: The State of South Carolina/DEA requires a Principal Azure Cloud and Integration Architecture with extensive experience designing, implementing, and governing enterprise-scale cloud solutions. This resource will provide senior-level architecture leadership for DEA's modernization initiatives, including the development of a cloud-native integration platform supporting integrations between statewide agencies, SCEIS, and enterprise business applications. Responsibilities: • Design, implement, and govern enterprise-scale cloud solutions. • Provide senior-level cloud architecture leadership for modernization initiatives. • Develop cloud-native integration platforms supporting statewide agencies and enterprise business applications. • Design enterprise integration solutions utilizing REST APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems. • Design and implement enterprise data platforms using cloud-based data lake, analytics, and data engineering technologies. • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and development automation. • Establish cloud architecture standards, governance practices, technical design patterns, and solution documentation. • Ensure cloud security, identity and access management, scalability, performance optimization, monitoring, and operational support. • Support integrations with SAP, S/4HANA, ERP, HR, and enterprise financial applications. Required/Preferred Skills: Required: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Data Science, or related technical field (or equivalent experience/certifications). • 10+ years of experience designing, developing, and implementing enterprise technology solutions. • 7+ years of experience designing and implementing cloud solutions using Microsoft Azure, AWS, GCP, or comparable cloud platforms. • Experience designing enterprise integration solutions utilizing REST APIs, event-driven architecture, asynchronous messaging, and distributed systems. • Experience designing enterprise data platforms using cloud-based data lake, analytics, or data engineering technologies. • Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or equivalent). • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and development automation. • Strong understanding of cloud security, IAM, scalability, monitoring, and operational support. • Experience establishing cloud architecture standards, governance practices, technical design patterns, and documentation. Preferred: • Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Developer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, TOGAF, or Enterprise Architecture certification. • Experience integrating SAP, SAP S/4HANA, ERP platforms, HR systems, or enterprise financial applications. • Experience supporting government, public-sector, or highly regulated technology environments. • Experience with Azure API Management, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Event Grid, Ivalua, or other ERP systems. • Experience establishing enterprise architecture standards, cloud governance practices, and technical design patterns.
