Role description
PeerSource is currently recruiting for a Cloud DevOps Engineer on a Contract basis. This role is based out of Tallahassee, FL.
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Applications Architect to support the implementation, automation, and management of multi-cloud infrastructure environments supporting an enterprise data platform. The consultant will work within a state government IT environment and collaborate with internal teams to optimize, secure, and scale infrastructure and cloud services, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong emphasis on architecture, automation, and cross-cloud integration.
Responsibilities
• Design, configure, and document infrastructure across Azure and AWS to support a multi-cloud enterprise data platform.
• Monitor cloud and on-premises systems, perform health checks, and troubleshoot performance and availability issues.
• Develop and maintain Terraform-based infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipelines for automation and compliance.
• Manage cloud networking components such as virtual networks, VPNs, firewalls, ExpressRoute, and Direct Connect.
• Integrate and support data tools including Informatica, Databricks, Snowflake, and Dataiku.
• Implement tagging strategies, cost reporting, and chargeback models to manage multi-cloud usage and budgets.
• Enforce security baselines including encryption, key management, and identity access controls in regulated environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support workload migration and hybrid infrastructure modernization.
• Maintain architecture documentation and provide technical knowledge transfer to internal staff.
• Participate in change management processes, project meetings, and provide regular written status updates.
Required Skills
• 5+ years of experience architecting and administering enterprise-scale Azure and AWS environments.
• 5+ years of experience with Windows Server Domain infrastructure, Azure Entra ID, and AWS IAM policy and access management.
• Experience deploying and managing IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS in hybrid/multi-cloud architectures.
• Experience designing and securing multi-cloud networking (VPNs, ExpressRoute, Direct Connect).
• Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform or similar IaC tools.
• Experience supporting cloud-based data tools such as Snowflake, Databricks, Informatica, and Dataiku.
• Ability to implement configurations aligned to HIPAA, NIST, and other compliance standards.
• Strong documentation, collaboration, and communication skills in a structured, policy-driven environment.
