We’re seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a leading global financial technology team, driving innovation across cloud-native applications and distributed systems. 📍 Location: Durham, NC (Local candidates only) 💼 Duration: 12 Months (Extension Possible) 🏠 Work Setup: Hybrid – Onsite every other week (5 days) 💰 Pay Range: $65–$70/hr (W2 Referral Only) 🚫 Visa: No sponsorships (US Citizens, Green Card, or W2 Referral only) ⚙️ About the Role You’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting cloud-native distributed systems that power customer, account management, and security applications. This role blends hands-on backend engineering with modern cloud infrastructure expertise — ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of software development and DevOps. 🧠 Key Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain AWS-based microservices and cloud infrastructure • Develop secure and scalable backend solutions using Java Spring Boot and Node.js • Collaborate with engineering leads to deliver high-impact solutions in an agile environment • Implement Infrastructure as Code (Terraform / CloudFormation) for automation and scalability • Support CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, Docker, and EKS • Work closely with database systems (Oracle, DynamoDB) for data-driven applications 💡 Top Skills & Technologies Backend: Java (Spring Boot), Node.js (TypeScript for Lambdas) Cloud: AWS (EC2, Lambda, RDS, API Gateway, EKS, Route 53, S3, Step Functions) IaC: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation CI/CD & DevOps: Docker, Jenkins, EKS Databases: Oracle, DynamoDB Testing: BDD / TDD frameworks Focus: 60–70% backend, 30–40% cloud engineering 🧩 Ideal Candidate • 6+ years of professional software development experience • Strong background in Java Spring and AWS native services • Hands-on experience with Terraform and CI/CD pipelines • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, agile environment
