Role description
We are seeking a skilled engineer to design, build, and secure AI/ML systems at scale. The ideal candidate combines strong software engineering, ML pipeline experience, and cloud infrastructure expertise with a security-first mindset. We are a small team building a core AI-driven workflow to accelerate human processing of a high volume of non-structured data. The system is built and operational, and we are adding an additional full-stack developer to extend and improve it. NOTE: This is for full-time freelancers only. No moonlighters. Qualifications: • Proficiency in Python, JavaScript, node.js, and SQL. • Experience designing and deploying cloud-native solutions using Terraform, Azure, and Kubernetes. • Core competency in developing and operating software integrations, with bonus points for experience working with the Zendesk API. • Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools (Grafana, Kibana) with ability to implement model performance tracking and data drift detection. • Experience calling frontier model API's from OpenAI, Anthropic, Google Gemini, etc... is a plus • Strong grounding in security, privacy, and compliance practices: • Secrets & key management (Azure Key Vault, managed identities). • Encryption of data at rest/in transit, RBAC/least privilege, private networking, and K8s network policies. • Audit logging, retention policies, and compliance frameworks (SOC 2, GDPR, HIPAA). • Security testing (SAST/DAST, dependency scanning, image signing, SBOM generation).
