Cloud Engineer (TS/SCI w/ Poly) – AWS Infrastructure & Data Engineering Location: Onsite – Herndon, VA & Springfield, VA (SCIF access required)Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Polygraph (Must be active and customer-verified)Duration: 2 Jan 2026 – 31 Jul 2026 (Extension Expected through 2027)Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours/weekCitizenship: U.S. Citizenship RequiredBadge: IC Green Badge (can be provided via crossover) Overview: We are seeking an experienced Cloud Engineer with deep expertise in AWS-native services, CDK-based Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and large-scale data engineering. This classified project supports a federal customer from secure locations in Herndon and Springfield, VA. You will work hands-on building secure, scalable microservices and cloud data platforms within a mission-critical environment. Responsibilities: Design and implement enterprise-scale AWS infrastructure using AWS CDK Architect robust microservices and serverless solutions for cloud-native applications Lead development using modern frameworks (Python, JavaScript/TypeScript) Build and maintain large-scale data pipelines (ETL/ELT) leveraging AWS services Implement event-driven architectures using SQS, SNS, Lambda, EventBridge Apply engineering best practices across the SDLC, including code reviews and DevSecOps Solve complex distributed system problems across data, infrastructure, and performance Minimum Requirements: Active TS/SCI with CI Poly, with Springfield Customer account access (SBU, SECNET, COE) 7+ years of cloud-native software engineering experience 5+ years hands-on with AWS CDK and IaC patterns Advanced Python development (FastAPI, Flask, or Django) Modern JavaScript/TypeScript, with 5+ years experience 4+ years implementing microservices architectures 4+ years building data engineering pipelines using AWS Glue, EMR, Kinesis, etc. Deep familiarity with AWS core services (Lambda, API Gateway, S3, DynamoDB, RDS, Athena) Experience with container orchestration (EKS, ECS, or Fargate) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ATO, NIST 800-53, and FedRAMP in government environments DevSecOps and security scanning (SonarQube, Snyk, Checkmarx) Expertise in database tuning across RDS, DynamoDB, MongoDB Experience with ML/AI tools (SageMaker, Databricks) and MLOps practices Familiarity with observability tools (CloudWatch, DataDog, Prometheus/Grafana) System design for high availability, failover, and cost optimization Pay: $190,000.00 - $280,000.00 per year Application Question(s): Do you currently hold an active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance and an IC green badge?
