Cloud Security Architect (Systems Analyst 3) Position Type: Contract | Hybrid (Austin, TX — Local Candidates Only) Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Central Note: Need someone with State experience. Overview We are seeking an experienced Cloud Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure-by-default architectures across cloud-native, microservices, and AI-enabled systems. The role ensures compliance with state and federal security frameworks while enabling modernization and transformation initiatives. The ideal candidate independently performs complex tasks, identifies alternative solutions, and conducts cost/benefit analyses to improve existing systems and security posture. Required Skills (8+ Years Each) • Information security and systems architecture • Designing secure cloud-native architectures (AWS preferred) • In-depth knowledge of Texas Cybersecurity Framework (TCF) and NIST 800-53 • Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Zero Trust Architecture • Threat modeling for complex systems • Securing microservices, APIs, and containerized environments • Configuring cloud security posture management (CSPM) tools • Integrating security into DevSecOps pipelines Preferred Skills • 4+ years securing AI/LLM-based systems and data pipelines • 4+ years with data protection strategies for PII, PHI, and sensitive data • 4+ years presenting risk assessments to executive leadership • 4+ years drafting enterprise security policies and architecture standards • Certifications: CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security Engineer Work Location Hybrid — 2 days onsite (Mondays & Thursdays) in Austin, TX; 3 days remote.
