CMDB Analyst

The CMDB Analyst is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and data quality of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB). This role works closely with IT teams to ensure accurate and reliable configuration data that supports ITSM processes and decision-making. Key Responsibilities • Maintain and update CMDB records, ensuring accuracy and completeness of Configuration Items (CIs) • Support data ingestion from discovery tools, integrations, and manual inputs • Perform regular data audits, reconciliation, and cleanup activities • Identify and resolve data discrepancies and integrity issues • Assist in defining CI classes, attributes, and relationships • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure proper CI lifecycle management • Generate reports and dashboards on CMDB data quality and usage • Support Configuration Manager in governance and process improvement initiatives • Assist with onboarding new services and systems into the CMDB • Document processes, standards, and procedures Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience) • 2+ years of experience in IT operations, ITSM, or data management • Familiarity with CMDB concepts and ITIL framework • Experience with ServiceNow or similar ITSM tools • Strong attention to detail and data quality focus • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure (servers, networks, applications, cloud) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications • Experience with ServiceNow CMDB or Discovery • Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS) • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel, Power BI, SQL) • ITIL Foundation certification Kavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
