CockroachDB Database Engineer

Akkodis is seeking CockroachDB Database Engineer for a Contract job with a client in Chandler, AZ - Hybrid (3 days on site in a Week). Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in the financial services industry. Pay Range: $85-$90/hour on W2 - All Inclusive; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors. • The CockroachDB Database Engineer will be a hands-on Engineer responsible for designing, building, and operationalizing CockroachDB as an enterprise Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) on Linux platform .Key Responsibilities • :Develop and enforce engineering standards, reference architectures, and best practice • sBuild automation frameworks using Ansible, shell scripting, and infrastructure-as-code principles to enable scalable, repeatable deployment • sDesign and implement self-service provisioning capabilities for application team • sEnsure high availability, performance tuning, monitoring, failover, and disaster recovery capabilitie • sDefine and implement security, compliance, and governance controls aligned with enterprise policie • sAct as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and escalation point for CockroachDB-related issue • sContinuously improve platform reliability, efficiency, and developer experienc • e Strong hands-on experience with CockroachDB architecture and administrati • onDeep understanding of distributed database systems (replication, consistency, consensus model • s)Expertise in automation using Ansible playboo • ksStrong shell scripting (Bash/Korn Shell) for automation and operational tooli • ngExpertise in using AI Tools like Github Copilot or any other AI tools to write the co • deExperience with multi-region deployment architectures and high availability desi • gnDatabase performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planni • ng8+ years of database engineering experience in enterprise environmen • tsStrong experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principl • esExperience in monitoring, alerting, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Splun • k)Solid understanding of backup, restore, failover, and disaster recovery strategi • esExperience implementing security controls, encryption, RBAC, and compliance standar • dsExcellent collaboration and stakeholder communication skil • ls Familiarity with Terraform or similar IaC to • olsKnowledge of CI/CD pipeline integration for database provision • ingExperience in financial services or regulated environme nts If you are interested in this role, then please click APPLY NOW.
