Overview
We are seeking a Collibra Data Catalog Analyst to support enterprise data governance initiatives and implement scalable data catalog solutions. This role will focus on building and maintaining data inventories, automating governance workflows, implementing data classification standards, and supporting record retention and privacy initiatives within a modern data governance platform such as Collibra.
The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including business units, data owners, information security teams, and governance committees to ensure accurate data lineage, classification, and compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards.
Key Responsibilities
Data Catalog & Data Inventory
• Build and maintain a centralized enterprise data inventory within a data governance platform.
• Catalog systems, databases, and data attributes and establish relationships between assets.
• Integrate databases and data sources into the data catalog to support enterprise data visibility.
• Maintain data lineage and relationships across systems, databases, and attributes.
• Support migration of existing data inventories and governance assets into the catalog platform.
Workflow Automation & Governance Processes
• Design and implement automated workflows for data inventory collection and governance processes.
• Configure and migrate governance workflows from development or proof-of-concept environments to production environments.
• Support change management processes including governance approvals and release management.
• Define and maintain governance roles, responsibilities, and ownership structures.
Data Classification & Protection
• Develop and implement enterprise data classification frameworks and standards.
• Enable granular data classification policies across data platforms and pipelines.
• Implement automated classification and tagging capabilities across multiple data sources and cloud environments.
• Partner with information security teams to align classification and protection standards with enterprise security policies.
Data Governance & Business Unit Enablement
• Identify business unit data owners and stakeholders responsible for data governance activities.
• Establish governance structures including roles, responsibilities, and stewardship models.
• Support the rollout and adoption of enterprise data inventory and governance frameworks.
• Facilitate approvals and governance processes with leadership and stakeholders.
Privacy & Compliance Enablement
• Support implementation of privacy assessment workflows and governance forms within the data governance platform.
• Develop functional and technical documentation including governance designs and user guides.
• Ensure governance processes align with regulatory and compliance requirements.
Records Management & Retention
• Develop and maintain record retention frameworks and documentation templates.
• Support migration of record retention documentation from legacy repositories into the governance platform.
• Collaborate with governance committees to maintain standardized record retention practices.
Required Qualifications
• Experience working with enterprise data governance or data catalog platforms (e.g., Collibra or similar).
• Knowledge of data governance principles including data inventory, lineage, classification, and stewardship.
• Experience implementing or supporting workflow automation within governance platforms.
• Familiarity with enterprise data environments including databases, cloud platforms, and data pipelines.
• Strong understanding of data classification, privacy, and compliance frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
• Experience documenting governance frameworks, processes, and technical designs.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience implementing enterprise data governance programs.
• Familiarity with cloud environments and automated data classification tools.
• Knowledge of privacy frameworks and data protection standards.
• Experience supporting records management or information lifecycle management initiatives.
