Collibra Developer / Configuration Specialist – Contract
Location: New York City (Metropolitan area, Onsite 3 days per week / Hybrid)
Contract: 15 week initial with scope for extension
Rate: Up to $1,100 per day

Az-Tec Talent is supporting a consultancy client in hiring a Collibra Developer / Configuration Specialist to support an enterprise data governance programme.
This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role within a sprint-based environment, focused on configuring and deploying Collibra using an out-of-the-box (OOTB) first approach, ensuring scalable, business-ready solutions.
Role Summary
You will be responsible for the day-to-day configuration and development within Collibra, including catalog setup, workflow configuration, metadata ingestion via Collibra Edge, and enabling trust-level lineage. You will work closely with governance stakeholders to deliver practical, production-ready outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
• Configure Collibra domains and communities aligned to enterprise structure
• Design and configure asset models, attributes, relationships, and views for:
• Reports
• Business terms
• KPIs / metrics
• Curated (gold) datasets
• Data products
• Configure and extend Collibra workflows, including:
• Certification workflows for reports and data products
• Curation and approval workflows for business terms and KPIs
• Alignment with governance roles (owners, stewards, approvers)
• Following an OOTB-first approach with minimal customisation
• Support metadata ingestion using Collibra Edge, including setup, connectivity, and validation
• Enable and validate trust-level lineage (report → curated dataset → source)
• Participate in bi-weekly sprint ceremonies, including demos, walkthroughs, and UAT
• Contribute to runbooks, documentation, and knowledge transfer
Required Experience
• Strong hands-on experience with Collibra configuration and development
• Experience with Collibra Edge and metadata ingestion
• Proven ability to configure workflows, asset models, and governance structures
• Solid understanding of data governance concepts (ownership, stewardship, certification)
• Experience working in Agile / sprint-based delivery environments
• Strong stakeholder communication skills
Nice to Have
• Experience in enterprise-scale data governance programmes
• Exposure to data lineage and reporting frameworks
