Computational Biologist

Job Summary • The Center for Technology & Innovation (CfTI) department at Company is looking for a highly motivated Computational Biologist with expertise in clinical bioinformatics, biomarker development, assay development, ML algorithms & data science, statistical modeling, handling clinical data sets and a background in biology and computational sciences. This is a high-visibility, individual contributor role preferring experience within matrix environments representing the function and requiring the development of methods to support the entirety of the clinical portfolio at Company. location: Telecommute job type: Contract salary: $35.00 - 41.39 per hour work hours: 9 to 5 education: Doctorate Responsibilities • Support the development of clinical biomarkers supporting Company programs through the formulation and execution of biomarker data analysis • Develop translational informatics analysis workflows in high-content multi-omics, multi-modal, single-cell, and spatial data domains encompassing genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics and epigenomics. • Work with biologists, especially in immuno-oncology, to leverage information on targeted biological pathways along with development of computational algorithms to manage and mine internal and external genomics and other high-content databases • Perform assessment of biochemical coverage, patient stratification, indication selection in Company's early and late clinical development programs and discovery of clinical insights at asset and portfolio levels through the application of knowledge discovery and data mining techniques. • Provide leadership and expertise to the function in the areas of algorithm development, bioinformatics, data integration & management, visualization, analysis, and presentation • Interface cross-functionally with the early development teams, assay laboratories, in-vitro diagnostics, and biomarker representatives Qualifications • Doctorate degree PhD OR PharmD OR MD and 2 years of Experience OR Masters degree and 5 years of experience OR Bachelors degree and 7 years of experience • Significant experience in bioinformatics, applied mathematics and/or statistics, including linear mixed effects models, to analyze multi-modal, multi-dimensional and large-scale biological data • Deep knowledge of prostate indications or oncology experience • Absolute must have: • A working knowledge and experience in Spatial transcriptomics and AI technologies. • Experience applying these skills in clinical trial settings is a plus. • Absolute must have: • Programming experience in R & Python and familiarity with tidyverse principles • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and drive scientific and technical innovation collaboratively with other members of the group, as well as with Company research community • Three or more years of relevant experience in the biotech or pharmaceutical industry • Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivation, independence, and leadership skills: Genomics, Oncology, R Language, Statistical Programming, Bayesian Statistics, Bioinformatics Equal Opportunity Employer: Race, Color, Religion, Sex, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, National Origin, Age, Genetic Information, Disability, Protected Veteran Status, or any other legally protected group status.
