About the Opportunity
York Solutions is seeking a Credit Analyst with a strong background in data science and analytics to support the development of credit risk decision strategies across the customer lifecycle. This role focuses on using data-driven insights to optimize credit performance, strengthen decision frameworks, and enhance profitability through advanced analytics. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners in Risk, Operations, Product, and Technology to evaluate trends, design solutions, and implement credit strategies that balance growth and risk.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and manage credit risk decision strategies across new accounts, portfolio management, and collections.
• Use Python, SQL, and Excel to analyze credit performance, identify trends, and produce actionable insights.
• Partner with Operations, Risk, and Technology teams to evaluate, test, and deploy credit controls and decision improvements.
• Perform deep-dive analyses on portfolio performance to identify emerging risks and areas for optimization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners, including Decision Science and Fraud, to track data quality, model performance, and profitability.
• Support the development and enhancement of systematic and manual credit processes in alignment with internal governance and compliance standards.
• Monitor marketplace developments to maintain awareness of industry best practices and risk innovations.
Required Skills & Experience
• Master’s degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
• 5+ years of experience in data and analytics, or 3+ years in credit or fraud risk analytics.
• Hands-on experience with Python, SQL, and Excel for data analysis and reporting.
• Strong analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into business insights.
• Familiarity with credit risk models, decision engines, and risk governance processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Skills
• Experience in the payments or financial services industry.
• Familiarity with machine learning tools, data visualization platforms, and risk decision systems.
• Knowledge of credit lifecycle management and compliance requirements.
