We are seeking a Credit Strategy Data Scientist to join a dynamic Fintech-focused credit risk team. This is a fully remote role ideal for someone passionate about using data science and analytics to drive smarter credit decisions and minimize financial risk.
As part of this team, you’ll design and optimize risk strategies, develop predictive models, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to deploy scalable, data-driven credit solutions.
Responsibilities
Design and refine rules to detect and mitigate credit losses.
Analyze large datasets to identify risk patterns and optimize credit strategies.
Develop dashboards and data visualizations (Tableau) to track key performance metrics.
Communicate complex analytical results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams to implement risk control improvements.
Support decision-making with predictive analytics and trend analysis.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Mining, or a related field.
At least 2 years of experience in risk analytics, data analysis, or data science within the Fintech or online payments industry.
Proficiency in SQL, Python, and common data science libraries (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn).
Experience handling large datasets and developing actionable insights.
Strong communication and data storytelling skills.
Skilled in creating dashboards using Tableau or similar tools.
Preferred: Familiarity with AWS, payment rule systems, and credit product analytics.
Work Setting
100% Remote within the United States.
Full-time, 40 hours per week (Monday–Friday).
Contract duration: 6–12 months, with potential for extension based on performance.
