Responsibilities
Kforce has a client in Waltham, MA that is seeking a Customer/1 (C1) Billing Business Analyst with proven experience in the Energy and Utilities sector. Summary: The ideal candidate will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technical teams, translating complex billing and customer information system (CIS) requirements into clear functional documentation. This person will play a key role in supporting C/1 enhancements, migrations, and process improvements within the meter-to-cash lifecycle. Key Responsibilities:
β’ Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to Customer/1 billing and CIS functions
β’ Translate business needs into functional specifications and user stories for technical and testing teams
β’ Partner with billing operations, IT, and project stakeholders to design and validate billing solutions
β’ Support rate design, bill calculation, and configuration efforts within Customer/1
β’ Conduct gap analysis between existing system capabilities and new business needs
β’ Facilitate UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and assist with issue triage and resolution
β’ Ensure all documentation aligns with enterprise standards and regulatory compliance requirements
Requirements
β’ 4-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst in large-scale utility or CIS projects
β’ 2+ years of hands-on experience with Customer/1 (C1) billing processes or system enhancements
β’ Strong understanding of Energy and Utilities operations, including meter-to-cash, billing, rates, and customer data management
β’ Proficiency in requirements gathering, business process mapping, and stakeholder communication
β’ Experience working in Agile or hybrid project environments
Nice To Have
β’ Knowledge of SQL or ability to query data for validation and analysis
β’ Exposure to automation, data migration, or modernization initiatives
β’ Previous experience working with the company or other large systems integrators
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
