Cyber Recovery Engineer / Disaster Recovery Engineer Hybrid – Downtown Chicago Long-Term Opportunity | Financial Services Environment/ Resilience & Disaster Recovery Focus (Do not apply if you are not local to Chicago) We’re looking for a Cyber Recovery Engineer with strong infrastructure/DevOps experience to support enterprise resilience, disaster recovery, and clean room recovery operations within a highly regulated enterprise environment. This role is ideal for someone with experience in backup/recovery platforms, DR testing, infrastructure operations, and automation who wants to grow deeper into cyber resilience engineering. Responsibilities β€’ Support cyber recovery and disaster recovery exercises β€’ Maintain and monitor backup/recovery platforms β€’ Execute restore procedures and recovery runbooks β€’ Assist with clean room and isolated recovery environment (IRE) operations β€’ Support recovery automation using PowerShell, Python, or Bash β€’ Maintain audit, compliance, and recovery documentation β€’ Collaborate with infrastructure, networking, and security teams Required Experience β€’ 8+ years in infrastructure engineering, IT operations, or backup/recovery engineering β€’ Experience in financial services or another regulated environment β€’ Hands-on experience with DR testing, backups, and restore operations β€’ Experience with Cohesity, Rubrik, Veeam, Zerto, Commvault, or NetBackup β€’ Basic scripting experience (PowerShell, Python, or Bash) β€’ Understanding of networking fundamentals (DNS, VLANs, firewall rules) β€’ Familiarity with FFIEC, NIST, or similar regulatory frameworks Nice to Have β€’ Clean room or isolated recovery environment (IRE) exposure β€’ Terraform or Ansible experience β€’ ServiceNow or ITSM workflows β€’ Cyber recovery / ransomware exercise participation β€’ Security or cloud certifications Please apply ASAP Vendors: if you have candidates, have hem apply here, do not reach out directly.
