Role description
D365 Business Analyst – Finance & Operations
Contract Length: 6 Months
Engagement: Outside IR35
Location: Remote (UK-based candidates preferred)
Start: ASAP
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Analyst to support the implementation and configuration of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations alongside a CRM-based Quote Tool rollout. The successful candidate will act as a key bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring requirements are clearly defined, solutions are fit for purpose, and configuration aligns with business needs.
This role is delivery-focused and suited to a hands-on BA with strong functional knowledge of D365 F&O and CRM, particularly within quoting, pricing, and order-to-cash processes.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead business analysis activities across D365 Finance & Operations and CRM workstreams
• Gather, document, and manage functional and non-functional requirements from business stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications and user stories
• Support the design and configuration of D365 Finance & Operations modules (with a strong finance focus)
• Play a key role in the rollout and configuration of a CRM-based quote tool, including:
• Quote creation and lifecycle
• Pricing, discounts, and approvals
• Integration points with Finance & Operations
• Work closely with solution architects, developers, and testers to ensure requirements are correctly implemented
• Support data mapping, process mapping, and integration design between CRM and F&O
• Assist with UAT planning and execution, including test script creation and defect triage
• Provide support during deployment and early life support phases
• Produce high-quality documentation, including process flows, gap analysis, and configuration guides
Essential Skills & Experience
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst on Dynamics 365 projects
• Strong functional knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations, particularly finance-related modules
• Hands-on experience with D365 CRM / Customer Engagement
• Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering a quote tool / CPQ-style solution within CRM
• Solid understanding of finance processes (e.g. order-to-cash, invoicing, pricing, revenue)
• Experience working on system configuration rather than purely advisory BA roles
• Ability to work independently in a remote, contract environment
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Desirable Experience
• Experience with integrations between D365 CRM and Finance & Operations
• Previous contract roles in complex D365 transformation programmes
• Agile or hybrid delivery experience
• Financial services, manufacturing, or professional services background
Contract Details
• Duration: 6 months (with potential extension)
• Rate: Competitive, depending on experience
• IR35 Status: Outside IR35
• Location: Fully remote
