Role description
Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing firm, and we are recruiting an experienced Data Analysis Specialist (Electrical Utilities) for a long-term contract position starting as soon as possible.
Hourly Rate, $59.50 p/h
Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required
Client Location: Chattanooga, TN β (Onsite)
Residency: Local or Regional candidates only.
Duration: 12-month contract assignment
Hours: 8:00 am β 5:00 pm, Monday β Friday
Must-haves
Must have proficiency in Microsoft Power Platform - BI, Apps, Automate, and Dataverse, along with intermediate-level SQL query building and interpretation. You should be used to connecting to different data sources accurately.
Project Overview
This role will be responsible for pulling data from databases and reporting against databases. We need someone comfortable with trending and correlating data and able to do analysis on cut-off points or statistical deviations. Project management experience or performance analysis experience is nice to have, but our focus is on getting a strong resource for analysis and reporting. Tableau, Power BI, and Excel are the primary tools we will be using.
Responsibilities
β’ Understands the decision-making processes, workflows, business, and information needs of programs/processes for the Operations leadership team.
β’ Translates business needs into analytics/reporting requirements to support executive decisions and workflows with required information.
β’ Coordinates with program/process owners and end users to understand their information needs and identify ways to visualize and present information in a user-friendly manner.
β’ Proactively mines data from various application sources to identify trends and patterns to generate insights for the leadership team and program/process owners. Illustrate key business trends through effective data interpretation and visualization.
β’ Develops frameworks and processes to analyze unstructured information collected through various applications.
β’ Develops standards for data, reporting, and visualization.
β’ Interacts with the Technology and Innovation team (T&I) and application owners to understand how information is stored, modeled, and tagged.
β’ Collaborates with Operations and T&I staff to develop and maintain self-service technology solutions.
β’ Supports leadership team, program/process owners, and end users to enhance information visualization through the development of dashboards and user interfaces.
β’ Works closely with the leadership team, program/process owners, end users, and business units for knowledge sharing, mentoring, and training.
β’ Maintains organizational SharePoint pages.
β’ Provide recommendations based on daily activities to update, simplify, and enhance process, procedures, and technologies.
β’ Engages with T&I Centers of Excellence to stay informed on new technology and best practices.
β’ Advise and fulfil ad-hoc requests for data and analysis to support senior management.
Education / Experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in computer science, data analytics, information technology, engineering, business, finance, mathematics, statistics, or related field.
β’ Equivalent education, training, and experience will be considered.
β’ Minimum of one (1) year of experience in the Electric Utility industry preferred with a focus on data analysis, IT applications, or technical program and performance analysis.
β’ Working knowledge of project and work management fundamentals.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Office Software and Power Platform applications (Power BI, Power Automate, etc.) and/or Tableau.
β’ Must have good written and verbal communication skills, especially concerning technical concepts and results.
β’ Able to work with co-workers, peer teams, senior management, and various business units.
β’ Strong organizational skills and proven ability to prioritize work, apply critical thinking, meet deadlines, and work on multiple assignments simultaneously with minimal supervision.
β’ Knowledge of enterprise applications such as Maximo, Primavera P6, Cognos, and data warehouse infrastructure is desired.
