We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting a comprehensive assessment of our current capabilities across apparel and footwear, identifying gaps, and developing strategies to enhance processes and suggest solutions. This role will play a critical part in ensuring the quality and integrity of our materials, colors, & ultimately products. We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in material/product development, quality assurance, and process improvement.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
Conduct a thorough analysis of current capabilities across apparel and footwear, including materials, manufacturing processes, and quality control measures Identify gaps and areas for optimization in current processes and tools
Develop and implement strategies to improve color and material quality, reduce defects, and enhance overall product integrity
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement process enhancements and ensure alignment with business objectives
Develop and maintain relationships with Client’s Engineers who manage our suppliers and factories to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations
Analyze data and metrics to identify trends and opportunities for optimization
Develop and present reports and recommendations to senior leadership on product integrity initiatives and progress
WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH?
As a key member of the Product Integrity Team, you will be responsible for ensuring color, material, and product excellence across our product lines, working closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and quality. This role will collaborate with our partners across Design, Development, Sourcing, Standards & Governance, Engineering, Material Vendors, and Factories.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Textile Science, Materials Science, Engineering, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training
Minimum 5 years of experience in product development, quality assurance, or a related field, preferably in the footwear and/or apparel industry
End-to-end experience in footwear and/or apparel, from concepting to manufacturing, who can bring a deep understanding of the product development process to our team
Strong knowledge of textile manufacturing, dyeing, finishing, printing, testing and industry material trends
Intermediate technical materials knowledge, including fibers, yarns, knits, wovens, and materials testing/inspection
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify gaps and develop solutions
Strong verbal and written communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean or Six Sigma would be a plus
Strong data analysis and reporting skills, with the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner. Proficient at Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel is needed
Ability to work independently, proactively, self-motivated, positive work attitude, attention to detail, organized, & a strong sense of responsibility
Intermediate experience in Smartsheet, Tableau, Miro, Slack would be a plus
Project and time management skills; commitment to delivering results on time
Ability to maintain focus and drive through ambiguity and change
The position is in Beaverton, Oregon and is 4 days in the office and 1 day work from home
