Job#: 3032185 Job Description: Business Intelligence Analyst Summary Of Responsibilities The Business Intelligence Analyst serves as the critical bridge between business stakeholders and the data team. The BI Analyst is responsible for working with departmental subject matter experts on the evaluation of Bulk Electric System. This role is responsible for understanding what the business needs to see, translating those needs into clear data requirements, and delivering actionable dashboards and reports through Power BI. This individual will be responsible for the quality and timeliness of specific business deliverables, work closely with internal teams across the organization while partnering with our Data Lead to bring reporting solutions to life. This position reports to the Director, IT & Security. Essential Job Responsibilities Stakeholder Engagement • Collaborate with executives for the purpose of executing Texas RE’s vision, mission, and goals. • Partner with department leaders and end users to understand their reporting goals, KPIs, and decision-making processes • Facilitate requirements discovery sessions and translate business questions into data requirements • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for reporting needs across the organization Requirements Gathering & Documentation • Document business requirements, metric definitions, and calculation logic in a clear, reproducible format • Maintain a shared understanding between business stakeholders and the technical data team • Manage the reporting backlog and prioritize requests in collaboration with stakeholders Power BI Development • Design and develop Power BI dashboards and reports that are accurate, intuitive, and business-ready • Write DAX measures and build data models within Power BI aligned to requirements • Iterate on reports based on stakeholder feedback and evolving business needs • Follow data handling protocols and ensure only secure, appropriate access at all times Collaboration & Quality • Work with the Data Engineer to ensure underlying data is structured to support reporting needs • Validate report outputs against source data and business logic • Contribute to documentation of data definitions, report catalogs, and calculation standards • Make recommendations to enhance data quality and reliability Education • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or Mathematics (or six (6) years of related work experience or certifications in addition to minimum work experience requirement). Qualifications • 3–5 years of experience in a BI, reporting, or data analyst role • Relevant experience in the electric energy industry including NERC compliance • Proficiency with Power BI, including data modeling, DAX, and report design • Strong SQL skills for data exploration and validation • Demonstrated ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders and translate their needs into deliverables • Experience documenting requirements and metric definitions • Familiarity with the Microsoft data stack (Azure, SharePoint, M365) a plus This employer is an equal opportunity employer.
