Data Analyst (On-Site Houston TX)
Location: Houston, TX 77002
Schedule: Monday-Thursday/ 30 hours per week
Pay: $55.00
Duration: Contract- 3/4 months
Summary
The Data Analyst will support Enterprise Risk Management and Insurance Risk Management initiatives by modeling project risk, asset health, and operational risk. This role focuses on advanced data analysis, database development, and supporting data-driven decision making across upcoming projects.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Partner with senior leadership, technical teams, and client groups to assess data requirements and define implementation strategies.
β’ Determine best practices for data manipulation, storage, analysis, and integration.
β’ Write and code logical and physical database descriptions, including identifiers for database management systems.
β’ Develop and maintain local databases and integrate them with internal applications and external data sources.
β’ Query, store, and process data to support enterprise-level risk modeling efforts.
Required Skills
β’ Experience with database technologies.
β’ Proficiency in at least one scripting language, including Python and related packages such as NumPy.
β’ Strong written and verbal communication skills.
β’ Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
β’ Proven track record of success in analytical roles.
β’ Passion for data-driven decision making.
β’ Basic knowledge of statistics and Monte Carlo simulation techniques.
Preferred Skills
β’ Experience in the utilities, electric, or natural gas industry.
β’ Familiarity with artificial intelligence in a professional setting.
β’ Experience with any of the following tools:
β’ At Risk software (highly preferred)
β’ MS Projects and MS Dynamics (highly preferred)
β’ Snowflake
β’ SAP
β’ Tableau
β’ Power BI
Education and Experience
β’ Bachelorβs degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
β’ 2 to 4 years of relevant professional experience.
