ECS is seeking a Data Analyst to work remotely . Please Note: This position is contingent upon contract award.
This Data Analyst role is full-time supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Office of Information Technology (OIT) Veteran Experience Services Eligibility and Enrollment (VESEE) Product Line. This role supports modernization of Eligibility and Enrollment to build a seamless experience for Veterans, their families, and caregivers and contributes to improving VA employee and Veteran lives and working towards a larger mission. This role is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and visualizing data from diverse sources to identify trends, optimize performance, and inform strategic direction.
Tasks for this role include:
β’ Evaluate organizational methods and provide source-to-target mappings and information-model specification documents for data sets
β’ Create reports based on data mining, analysis, and visualization
β’ Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data
β’ Work directly with management and users to gather requirements, provide status updates, and build relationships
β’ Work closely with stakeholders to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers
β’ Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity
β’ Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources
β’ Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools within defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution
β’ Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make data evaluation processes more flexible or scalable across data sets
Salary Range: $80,000 - $100,000

β’ Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization
β’ Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations
β’ Strong SQL or Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools
β’ Strong understanding of data models, database design development and data mining
β’ Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
β’ At a minimum, proficient skill level in MS suite of products
β’ Strong ability to manage several complex tasks in a timely, effective manner
β’ Demonstrated ability to be proactive, think independently, and work collaboratively with a multi-functional team
β’ Ability to work in a dynamic, collaborative, results-driven environment
β’ Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Desired Skills
β’ Experience working with VA or other Federal agencies
β’ Experience in Federal Healthcare consulting
β’ Prior experience with PowerBI
β’ Statistical modeling or predictive analytics experience
