Role description
Location: Remote (EST hours)
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Data Analyst that is primarily specialized in SQL query writing to join our partner’s rapidly growing team. This role is crucial for building and optimizing SQL queries to pull data from their Snowflake platform in support of various business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong SQL skills, experience with data extraction from Snowflake, and the ability to work with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver accurate solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Extract data from Snowflake to use for creating SQL queries, often times from scratch.
• Handle ad hoc data requests by building complex queries tailored to specific requirements across various business units.
• Ensure the accuracy of data being pulled into PowerBI, although PowerBI expertise is not required.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders, including operations, finance, and claims, to understand data needs and deliver solutions.
• Maintain and enhance a repository of available queries for various departments.
• Utilize existing PowerBI tools to facilitate relationship mapping and data visualization.
• Potential to develop into subject matter expert on team for SQL query writing.
• Work with Azure Data Factory for data integration tasks as needed.
Required Skills and Experience:
• Expert in SQL and 5+ years’ of experience building queries from scratch.
• Strong experience with Snowflake.
• Familiarity with Azure Data Factory.
• Experience working with stored procedures, task development and understanding of ETL processes.
• Excellent communication skills for working with internal stakeholders and gathering requirements.
• Ability to enhance and optimize existing queries.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Logistics
• Fully Remote (EST Hours)
• Standard work hours (8 AM – 5 PM) Monday-Friday
• 12 Month W2 Contract with the potential for extension or conversion
