Job Description:
We are currently seeking a data analyst contractor to help us collect, transform and extract meaning from data for the Global Technology Services (GTS) Control Tower team at this client. The position performs a wide range of activities with experts from GTS, business intelligence, business analysis, data engineering, process engineering, governance, and data analysts to collaboratively solve a wide array of complex technical problems.
Core Responsibilities
• Report & Dashboard Development: Design, develop, and maintain high?quality, accessible interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that clearly communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and business insights.
• Data Modeling & Transformation: Build and optimize semantic data models, including relationships, calculated columns, and measures using DAX. Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) using Power Query (M).
• Performance Optimization: Tune data models and DAX calculations to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and user experience.
• Documentation & Standards: Create and maintain clear documentation for data models, transformation logic, report definitions, and operational procedures to support transparency and long-term maintainability.
Requirements
• An online portfolio with examples with nonconfidential data that demonstrates your analysis skills
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Power BI, DAX, Power Query, M, ETL, Python, PySpark, SQL, key focus on performance optimization of DAX.
Preferred Qualifications
• Microsoft Certifications for any of the following: Power BI Data Analyst Associate (PL-300), Analytics Engineer Associate (DP-600), Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700)
• Prior experience with Microsoft Fabric, relational and non-relational databases, data pipelines, medallion architecture, star schema
• Strong focus on user experience, interaction design, data visualization, and accessibility best practices
• 5 to 10+ years of work experience or equivalent in delivering large-scale, complex programs with a strong focus on technology transformation, big data, automation, analytics, and business intelligence
