Data Analyst (contract)

Job Summary This position serves as the central hub for vendor performance data management and automation within a high-volume operational environment. The successful candidate will take ownership of collecting, standardizing, and processing vendor scorecard data while building scalable solutions that reduce manual workload across project management and coordination teams. This role requires a technically proficient analyst who can transform raw data from multiple sources into actionable insights and automated reporting systems. The position offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to directly impact operational efficiency by creating dashboards and performance tracking tools that support approximately 5,000 active work orders and enable better vendor accountability at the state level. Responsibilities • Collect, input, and standardize vendor scorecard data from multiple sources including project managers and coordinators • Extract and analyze data from SAP to support vendor performance tracking and operational reporting • Design and build Power BI dashboards to automate vendor performance reporting and provide real-time visibility • Clean, organize, and maintain large datasets to ensure accuracy and consistency across vendor performance metrics • Create and manage vendor scorecards and key performance indicators for contractors and service providers • Develop automated solutions to reduce manual data entry workload for project managers and coordinators • Transform and process data to support contract management and vendor accountability initiatives • Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement solutions that enhance operational efficiency • Generate regular reports and ad-hoc analyses to support decision-making across the operations team Skills • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, complex formulas, and data cleanup techniques • Demonstrated experience building dashboards and automated reporting in Power BI • Working knowledge of SAP with ability to extract and manipulate operational and financial datasets • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take initiative on projects • Experience creating and managing vendor scorecards or performance metrics • Excellent organizational skills with ability to manage multiple data streams simultaneously • Strong communication skills to collaborate with project managers, coordinators, and operational staff Experience • 3 to 8 years of relevant data analysis experience in an operations-focused environment • Previous exposure to high-volume work order environments, logistics, utilities, or state/government contracting • Proven track record of process improvement or automation initiatives that reduced manual work • Experience working with vendor management, service orders, or contract performance tracking Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Business Analytics, Information Systems, Operations Management, or related field This is an exceptional opportunity to make a tangible impact on operational efficiency while developing your technical and analytical skill set.
