Role description
Data Analyst (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytically driven professional to support a dynamic planning and forecasting team through data-driven insights and decision support. This position focuses on conducting exploratory data analysis, developing analytical models, and translating complex data into clear, actionable recommendations that inform planning and execution decisions. The successful candidate will evaluate data sources, assumptions, and model performance while collaborating across teams to ensure alignment in data and processes. This position balances independent, hands-on analytical work with cross-functional engagement to improve visibility, planning accuracy, and operational efficiency. The work involves analyzing demand and capacity data to identify trends, gaps, and operational risks that affect planning outcomes, while building dashboards and reports that generate insights to support critical business decisions. Job Responsibilities • Conduct exploratory data analysis, create data models, and develop actionable insights to enable and support decision-making for business leaders • Identify and leverage appropriate sources of data and contribute to the development of recommendations • Determine appropriate analytical techniques and critically evaluate assumptions underlying models and analyses • Share and simplify relevant findings and insights and ensure presented results are accessible and accurate • Support and consult with other teams and identify relevant data-driven recommendations • Recommend efficiency improvements for core work and evaluate the viability of automated data collection methods • Understand linkages between analytical models and contribute to the review process, seeking to determine root causes when models are deemed deficient • Work within and across teams to ensure alignment in data sources and processes and engage stakeholders to act on opportunities • Analyze demand and capacity data to identify trends, gaps, and operational risks that affect planning • Build Excel analyses and dashboards to generate insights that support planning and forecasting decisions • Ensure data accuracy and translate findings into clear recommendations for stakeholders • Identify opportunities to improve or automate data and reporting processes Requirements • Minimum 3 years of experience with advanced data analysis using Excel and Power BI • Minimum 3 years of experience with exploratory data analysis and data modeling • Minimum 3 years of experience with supply chain fundamentals including demand-supply balancing, capacity planning, and operational execution • 4 years of experience in supply chain planning, forecasting, analytics, or a related operations-focused role • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Supply Chain required • Advanced Excel proficiency including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data validation • Power BI experience for reporting and data visualization • Strong analytical and data modeling capabilities • Exploratory data analysis techniques • Data source evaluation and validation • Statistical analysis and assumption testing • Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex findings for cross-functional stakeholders • Ability to manage multiple priorities independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Problem-solving and critical thinking abilities • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy Additional Details • Location: Remote • Duration: 2 months • Pay Range • : $41.50 - $47 per hour • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours • Job Status: Non-Exempt • Application Deadline: Apply within 72 hours of the posting date to ensure consideration.
