Role description
Data Analyst (Contract) Please note that this is a contract role providing services to Microsoft through external staffing partners of Allegis Global Solutions. If you are selected for this role, you will be employed by AGS and will not be an employee of Microsoft. Summary This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of corporate accounting and finance systems within a dynamic, fast-paced environment. The role supports the general ledger close and consolidation process while contributing to critical system implementation initiatives. This individual will play a vital part in ensuring accurate financial reporting by managing intercompany accounting activities, maintaining data governance standards, and supporting user acceptance testing for enterprise accounting systems. The position requires a detail-oriented professional who can seamlessly transition between hands-on accounting work during monthly close cycles and systems enablement activities, including testing and data quality reviews. This role provides exposure to both operational accounting processes and transformational finance technology projects, making it ideal for someone who enjoys variety and cross-functional collaboration Job Responsibilities • Support monthly accounting close activities with focus on intercompany transactions and balances • Review and validate intercompany accounting entries and investigate discrepancies • Partner with accounting teams to resolve timing or posting issues affecting the close process • Assist with reconciliations, variance analysis, and close-related documentation • Support general ledger master data maintenance and data governance activities • Execute user acceptance testing for accounting and finance systems by running test scripts and validating results • Document testing outcomes, log defects, and compare results between source systems and downstream reports • Collaborate with engineering and IT teams to triage issues and validate fixes • Maintain and refresh reporting tools to support accounting operations • Support test readiness activities including access validation and scenario setup • Ensure data quality and accuracy across the general ledger environment • Follow established accounting procedures and contribute to process improvement initiatives Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • 5 or more years of experience supporting accounting close execution and validation • 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience with enterprise finance and accounting systems • 2 to 4 years of experience executing user acceptance testing for accounting or finance systems • Strong accounting fundamentals and understanding of general ledger processes • Proficiency with enterprise accounting systems and finance technology platforms • Experience executing user acceptance testing for financial systems • Ability to validate accounting outcomes and assess financial impact across multiple systems • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capacity to investigate and resolve discrepancies • Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines • Comfort working in both structured and ad-hoc problem-solving environments • Data governance and data quality review capabilities • Documentation skills for test evidence, defects, and accounting support materials • Ability to work independently in a remote environment during Pacific Standard Time hours Additional Details • Location: Remote • Duration: 4 months • Pay Range • : $50 - $56.50 per hr • Weekly Schedule: 40 hours • Job Status: Non-Exempt • Application Deadline: Apply within 72 hours of the posting date to ensure consideration.
