Role description
Data Analyst (Data Quality & Governance) – Contract – London / Hybrid
Robert Half International is supporting a global consulting firm in the search for a hands-on Data Analyst to join a major transformation programme. This role sits within programme governance but is heavily focused on data investigation, quality, and analysis, working closely with stakeholders to identify issues, validate data, and support key data deliverables. This is a hands-on data-focused position suited to someone comfortable working directly with datasets to identify issues, perform validation and reconciliation, and improve overall data quality across multiple sources.
Assignment Details:
• Initial 6-month contract (with strong likelihood of extension)
• Start Date: 2–3 weeks (fast-track onboarding)
• Location: Hybrid (1–2 days per week in London)
• Rate: £450 p/day via FCSA-accredited umbrella
Key Responsibilities:
• Hands-on analysis of datasets to identify data quality issues, anomalies, and root causes with minimal guidance
• Performing data validation, reconciliation, and transformation checks across multiple systems and data sources
• Supporting source-to-target mapping and ensuring accuracy and consistency of data flows
• Producing core data artefacts including data dictionaries, definitions, and validation documentation
• Working closely with stakeholders to understand data issues and support resolution
• Supporting data modelling understanding (e.g. entity relationships, data structures)
• Ensuring data is fit-for-purpose for reporting and downstream consumption (BI/reporting teams)
• Supporting governance activity relating to PII, GDPR, data security, and data controls
Required Experience:
• Strong hands-on experience in data analysis / data quality / data migration environments
• Strong SQL skills (comfortable interrogating and analysing complex datasets independently)
• Proven experience with data validation, reconciliation, and data quality improvement
• Experience working with source-to-target mappings and data transformations
• Comfortable working with large, complex, and overlapping datasets (deduplication, cleansing, anomaly detection)
• Understanding of data structures and modelling concepts (ERDs, data relationships)
• Strong Excel skills
• Understanding of data governance concepts (PII, GDPR, data controls)
• Able to work with stakeholders but with a technical, hands-on data mindset
Nice to Have:
• Experience with MDM tools (e.g. Profisee, Ataccama or similar)
• Experience with tools such as Snowflake, Databricks or modern data platforms
• Exposure to financial services data environments
• Visio or process mapping tools
Additional Information: All candidates must complete standard screening (Right to Work, DBS, credit/sanctions, employment verification)
