Knowledge Transfer Partnership | Bangor University & Snowdon Timber Products Ltd
Location: Bangor, North Wales
Salary: Circa £39,000–£42,000 p.a. + £4,000 personal training budget
Contract: Full-time, Fixed-term (28 months)

ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) post jointly hosted by Snowdon Timber Products Ltd — one of the UK's fastest-growing timber e-commerce companies — and Bangor University's Albert Gubay Business School.
Based primarily at Snowdon Timber Products' headquarters in Bangor, you will lead a 28-month digital transformation project: designing and embedding scalable data infrastructure and analytics capability across the whole business. You will be integrated into the operations team while receiving expert academic supervision and mentoring from Bangor University.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
• Design and build scalable data architecture to unify data across all business functions
• Develop analytics to improve product selection, pricing, promotions and stock management
• Engage stakeholders across the business to translate data needs into practical digital solutions
• Lead change management and training to embed a culture of data-led decision-making
• Collaborate with academic supervisors at Bangor University through regular structured sessions
• Build relationships with digital platform and technology providers
• Maintain project plans, milestone reports and technical documentation

Snowdon Timber Products Ltd has grown rapidly since 2019 from a traditional timber yard to a multi-channel e-commerce business serving trade and consumer customers across the UK. The company sells via its own website and major online marketplaces, and has ambitious plans for continued digital growth.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Essential:
• Degree in data analytics or a related field (or equivalent demonstrable experience)
• Experience delivering digital or analytics projects end-to-end
• Strong coding skills in Python, R, SQL or similar
• Strong data architecture skills: database management, cloud systems, platform integration
• Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
• Self-motivated, organised, and able to work to deadlines
Desirable:
• Agile or project management qualification
• Experience with change management or cultural transformation programmes
• Ability to communicate in Welsh
THE PACKAGE
• Salary circa £39,000–£42,000 per annum
• £4,000 personal training budget tailored to your development
• Two fully funded residential management training courses
• Travel and subsistence budget
• 28 days holiday (including bank holidays)
• Performance-related bonus potential tied to commercial impact
• Opportunity to discuss a permanent role with Snowdon Timber Products at project end
