Role description
Data Analyst Location: Atlanta, GA 30339 (Onsite) Duration: 7-Month Contract with Potential for Extension Assignment Overview Our client, a Fortune 50 retailer, is seeking a highly analytical and results-driven Data Analyst to support strategic initiatives focused on operational performance, customer issue resolution, and business process improvement. This role will partner with cross-functional teams to evaluate business challenges, analyze complex data, drive projects from inception through implementation, and deliver actionable insights that improve customer and business outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong project management capabilities with analytical expertise and is comfortable navigating multiple systems to investigate issues, identify root causes, and develop scalable solutions. This individual will serve as a trusted business partner, leveraging data and operational insights to influence decision-making and support strategic priorities. Key Responsibilities β€’ Lead projects through the full lifecycle, including business needs assessment, requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, and post-launch evaluation β€’ Partner with stakeholders to define project objectives, success metrics, business requirements, and implementation strategies β€’ Conduct research and analysis to identify opportunities for process improvements, operational efficiencies, and enhanced customer experiences β€’ Investigate customer concerns related to invoicing, payments, order management, and other operational issues by gathering data from multiple systems and platforms β€’ Utilize Salesforce, SQL, internal reporting tools, and operational systems to identify trends, diagnose issues, and determine root causes β€’ Develop recommendations and partner with business and technical teams to implement corrective actions and long-term solutions β€’ Create, maintain, and enhance dashboards, scorecards, and reporting tools that provide visibility into project, program, and category performance β€’ Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and monitor business metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of initiatives and identify areas for improvement β€’ Present findings, insights, and recommendations to business leaders and cross-functional stakeholders β€’ Track project progress, risks, dependencies, and outcomes to ensure successful delivery and business value realization β€’ Act as a strategic thought partner by translating data into actionable business insights and recommendations Required Qualifications β€’ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Analytics, Information Systems, Supply Chain, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience β€’ 3+ years of experience in business analysis, program analysis, project management, operations, customer experience, or related analytical roles β€’ Experience leading projects and initiatives from requirements gathering through implementation β€’ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex business issues and identify practical solutions β€’ Hands-on experience using SQL to query, analyze, and validate data β€’ Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM/customer management platforms β€’ Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation β€’ Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence across multiple teams β€’ Ability to prioritize competing demands and manage multiple initiatives simultaneously Preferred Qualifications β€’ Experience supporting customer operations, order management, invoicing, billing, payment processing, or related business functions β€’ Experience developing dashboards and reporting solutions using business intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms β€’ Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and continuous improvement principles β€’ Experience working in large enterprise or retail environments β€’ Familiarity with AI-enabled tools and technologies that improve reporting, analysis, and operational efficiency What Will Make You Successful β€’ A naturally curious mindset with a passion for solving business problems through data β€’ Ability to connect operational issues to broader business impacts and strategic objectives β€’ Strong attention to detail while maintaining focus on the bigger picture β€’ Confidence working independently and driving initiatives forward with minimal oversight β€’ Ability to build strong partnerships across business, operations, customer support, and technology teams β€’ A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and delivering measurable results
