Title: Data Analyst I Location: North Chicago, Illinois Duration: 5 Months (Possibility of Extension) 100% Onsite Job Summary The Data Analytics Analyst is responsible for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex data sets to deliver actionable insights that support strategic business decision-making. This role assesses business performance using multiple data sources and develops meaningful reports and dashboards to address critical business issues. The analyst collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, develop analytical models, and create effective visualizations that communicate findings clearly. They transform data into compelling business stories, provide recommendations to leadership, document and standardize processes, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Additionally, they remain current with evolving technologies, tools, and industry best practices through ongoing professional development. Business Assessment & Reporting • Understand and utilize multiple data sources to evaluate business performance. • Develop reports, dashboards, and analytics solutions that enhance visibility into business-critical issues. • Effectively communicate complex analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Deliver timely, accurate, and actionable insights to support decision-making. Data Acquisition & Analysis • Acquire data from databases, ERP systems, warehouse management systems, syndicated sources, and other disparate platforms. • Aggregate, cleanse, validate, and analyze data to ensure quality and consistency. • Select and apply appropriate analytical techniques and tools to generate relevant business insights. • Identify trends, patterns, risks, and opportunities through data analysis. Process Improvement & Solution Development • Develop and implement enhancements to existing reporting and analytical capabilities. • Identify opportunities to streamline processes and improve data accessibility. • Proactively recommend solutions by understanding business processes, data flows, and reporting requirements. • Support continuous improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations. Storytelling & Business Recommendations • Translate complex data into clear and compelling business stories. • Prepare analyses and executive summaries based on key findings. • Present findings and recommendations to management and business partners. • Support strategic and operational decision-making through actionable insights. Systems, Tools & Data Management • Knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and other enterprise data platforms is preferred. • Utilize and understand business-specific data sources relevant to supported functional areas. • Demonstrate proficiency with: • Microsoft Excel • Power BI • SQL • Databricks • Experience with Oracle is a plus. Documentation & Knowledge Transfer • Create and maintain accurate process documentation and standard operating procedures. • Standardize reporting and analytical processes where appropriate. • Train backup resources on key processes and responsibilities to ensure business continuity. • Continuous Learning & Professional Development • Stay current with emerging technologies, tools, and industry trends. • Seek opportunities to implement new tools and methodologies that improve business outcomes. • Continuously develop skills in analytics and business intelligence solutions, including: • Power BI • Power Query • Excel • Databricks • SQL • Automation/Macros • Azure Preferred Qualifications & Skills • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Ability to manage and interpret large, complex data sets. • Excellent communication and presentation skills. • Experience creating dashboards, reports, and data visualizations. • Knowledge of supply chain, operations, logistics, or healthcare/business processes is a plus. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions. • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
