Data Analyst

Position: Data Analyst Location: Universal City, CA 91608 Duration: 9 Months Job Type: Temporary Assignment Work Type: Onsite Shift Timings: Mon-Fri (9:00 AM 6:00 PM) Pay rate: $ 52.92 - 86.00/hr. It owns and operates a portfolio of news and entertainment television networks, a motion picture company, television production operations, a television stations group, theme parks, and a suite of Internet-based businesses. Job Summary: The Data Analyst is responsible for analyzing data using statistical techniques, implements and maintains databases, gathers data from primary and secondary sources, and identifies and interprets trends from the data. They will also monitor performance and quality control plans to identify improvements. The Data Analyst will adhere to SOP’s defined including best practices, data compliance and governance and technology decisions. The Data Analyst will work closely with data architects, third party partners, as well cross functional teams to deliver large and complex solutions that are efficient to sustain and foster the maturity of company’s data insights. This Data Analyst will primarily be aligned to a Cyber Security Platform program that enables fast detections, advanced correlation, easy investigation, historical analysis and threat analysis. Responsibilities • Interpret data, analyze results using statistical techniques, and provide ongoing reports. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality. • Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems. Identify, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets • Filter and “clean” data by reviewing computer reports, printouts, and performance indicators to locate and correct code problems. Collaborate with management to prioritize business and information needs. • Identify and define new process improvement opportunities. • Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities. • Perform other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibility • Individual contributor. • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws Qualifications: • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques. • Strong knowledge of and experience with reporting packages (SSRS, Tableau, etc.), databases (SQL etc.), programming (XML, JavaScript, or ETL frameworks). • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, PowerBI etc.). • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. • Expert at queries, report writing and presenting findings. • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science or Database Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. • 3+ years’ experience as a Data Analyst or Business Data Analyst. • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. • Consistent attendance is a job requirement.
