Role description
The Data Analyst on the Database Infrastructure Development Team is responsible for analyzing, validating, and interpreting enterprise database metadata to support the operation, governance, and continuous improvement of the enterprise-wide metadata repository. This role works closely with developers, architects, DBAs, and governance teams to ensure that metadata is accurate, complete, actionable, and aligned with enterprise standards.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly analytical, and comfortable working with complex datasets across heterogeneous database platforms. This role contributes to data quality frameworks, reporting, business logic validation, and operational insights that guide engineering priorities and governance decisions.
β’ 2. Key ResponsibilitiesAnalyze metadata from multiple database platforms (Oracle, PostgreSQL, DB2, SQL Server, cloud-managed databases, etc.)
β’ .Evaluate data quality, identify anomalies, and provide insights to engineering and DBA teams
β’ .Validate ingestion results, schema mappings, lineage data, and configuration baselines
β’ .Develop business rules, data quality checks, and validation frameworks for metadata consistency
β’ .Build dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support operational monitoring, compliance, governance, and platform adoption
β’ .Produce analytics showing platform coverage, ingestion health, data freshness, and lineage completeness
β’ .Collaborate with Developers to refine data models, ingestion logic, and validation pipelines
β’ .Partner with governance teams to support stewardship, lineage, audit, and compliance requirements
β’ .Contribute to defining metadata standards, naming conventions, quality metrics, and validation rules
β’ .Monitor pipeline outputs, compare expected vs. actual metrics, and identify root causes of inconsistencies
β’ .Provide recommendations to improve metadata quality, ingestion reliability, and reporting accuracy
β’ .Support Agile ceremonies and contribute to backlog refinement with data-driven insights
