Data Analyst

Job Title: Senior Data Analyst / Data Modeler (Banking) Location: Pittsburgh, PA or Hermitage, PA (Onsite/Hybrid) Job Type: Contract (Long-term) About the Role We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst / Data Modeler to support a large-scale banking data engineering initiative. This role will play a key part in shaping how enterprise banking data is structured, consumed, and used across lines of business. You will work closely with data engineering and business teams to design fact and dimension models and build data marts from an existing enterprise data warehouse. This is not a reporting or dashboard-heavy role—the focus is on data modeling, analysis, and strategy. Key Responsibilities • Design and maintain dimensional data models (fact and dimension tables) for banking data • Build and optimize data marts sourced from an Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) • Analyze banking data to understand how different lines of business (LOBs) consume and use data • Partner with business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data structures • Collaborate closely with data engineering teams on data alignment and modeling decisions • Define data grain, business rules, and data definitions to support analytics and reporting • Ensure data models support downstream reporting and analytics use cases without report-specific logic Required Qualifications • 8+ years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Modeler, or Analytics Engineer • Strong banking domain experience (mandatory) • Retail banking, commercial banking, loans, deposits, accounts, transactions • Proven experience with dimensional data modeling (fact & dimension tables, star/snowflake schemas) • Hands-on experience designing data marts from EDW data • Strong SQL (Microsoft SQL Server preferred) • Experience working with cross-functional business and technical teams Nice to Have • Excel for data validation and analysis • Python or R for lightweight analytics • Exposure to cloud storage platforms (e.g., S3) Additional Notes • This role works as part of a data engineering team and requires strong ownership and independence • Candidates must be comfortable working onsite in Pittsburgh or Hermitage, PA • Banking experience is a strict requirement Interested candidates: Please share your resume or reach out directly for more details to adarsh@staffxpertllc.com
