Data Analyst
Location: CHARLOTTE, North Carolina (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Duration: 3 months
Role Overview
We are seeking a Data Analyst to support data defect remediation and regulatory reporting defect coverage. This role will own an individual portfolio of data defects, drive cross-functional stakeholders to timely resolution, and provide material support for FR Y-14 in-flight defect coverage, including triage, escalation, forum coverage, and coordination across leads and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage an assigned portfolio of data defects end-to-end, including clarifying requirements, identifying blockers, and ensuring defects progress through the lifecycle.
• Drive stakeholders to meet remediation and documentation requirements in a timely manner; coordinate across data providers and downstream consumers as needed.
• Provide material support and leadership for FR Y-14 defect coverage, including forum coverage, triage, escalation, and coordination across leads and stakeholders.
• Support ad-hoc defect-related work such as SLA monitoring, stakeholder communications, status reporting, and escalation management.
• Apply critical thinking and problem-solving to determine the right sources of information and the right partners to engage to resolve issues.
Required Qualifications
• 3–5 years of relevant experience in data management, data quality, defect/issue remediation, and/or regulatory reporting support.
• Hands-on experience resolving data defects using defect/issue management tools (e.g., EDQDM, JIRA, or similar).
• Working knowledge of financial/regulatory reporting concepts and artifacts (e.g., FR Y-14, Call Report, 10-K, 10-Q) and how upstream data issues impact reporting.
• Understanding of data flows and lineage across systems (e.g., SOO to SOR to ADS/Aggregators to Reporting).
• Strong stakeholder management skills with demonstrated ability to coordinate across multiple leads/teams and drive timely outcomes.
• Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify who to engage when the path forward is unclear.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience producing regulatory and/or risk reporting, including reviewing and addressing exceptions in reconciliation/variance reports.
• Experience determining and booking correcting adjustments (e.g., appropriate GL or SOR adjustments) in support of remediation.
• Understanding of Finance line-of-business landscape (e.g., Controllers vs. Treasury) and common data/provider operating models.
