We are hiring a Data Analyst / Data Implementation Specialist to support deployment of a thin film coating data automation system within a manufacturing environment. This role focuses on data analysis, migration, validation, and Excel automation to reduce manual engineering work and improve process accuracy. You will work closely with engineering and software teams and take ownership of day-to-day technical execution after initial training. Data Analyst – Manufacturing Data & Excel Automation Fairport, NY (100% Onsite) 6 Months Contract (Possible Extension) ⚠️ IMPORTANT Requirements ✔ 1–3 years professional Data Analyst / Data Engineer experience ✔ Advanced Excel skills (Macros, VBA, complex formulas) ✔ Experience working with structured datasets & data validation ✔ Bachelor’s OR Associate’s degree in Data/Engineering/Math/Technical field ✔ Ability to work 100% onsite in Fairport, NY Key Responsibilities Data Analysis & Validation • Analyze historical thin-film coating data • Develop statistical limits and thresholds • Review measurement methods and ensure data accuracy • Validate outputs and troubleshoot data inconsistencies Data Migration & Database Work • Convert legacy Excel files into standardized templates • Upload structured data into SQL database • Validate migration results using Excel tools & macros • Generate test datasets and validate outputs Project Implementation • Execute assigned deployment tasks • Work with software engineering teams to resolve issues • Provide status updates to stakeholders • Support data transformation initiatives Required Qualifications Education • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related field (Preferred) • OR • Associate’s Degree in technical/data-related field (Minimum Required) Required Experience • 1–3 years professional Data Analyst / Data Management experience • Strong Excel skills (Macros, VBA, advanced formulas required) • Experience working with structured datasets • Basic SQL experience or willingness to learn • Ability to work independently Preferred Experience (Highly Desired) • Manufacturing or engineering environment experience • Data migration or database population projects • Data transformation projects (unstructured → structured data) • Process improvement / automation experience Ideal Candidate Background You may be a good fit if you previously worked as: • Data Analyst (Manufacturing / Engineering) • Excel VBA Data Analyst • Data Implementation Analyst • Junior Data Engineer • Manufacturing Data Analyst • Process Data Analyst Why This Role? ✔ Hands-on technical data work ✔ Work directly with engineering teams ✔ Strong resume-building project ✔ Potential contract extension ✔ High-impact automation initiative
