Job#: 3033930 Job Description: Data Analyst Location: Greenwood Village, Colorado (Hybrid) Employment Type: Contract Role Overview We are seeking a data analyst who excels in documentation and communication as much as in analysis. This position begins with a focus on creating order within a complex data environment by mapping data flows, cataloging dashboards, and documenting institutional knowledge. As you become familiar with the systems, you will transition to active analysis, visualization, and reporting. This role is ideal for an individual who is motivated by making complex systems understandable and views documentation as a primary deliverable. Key Responsibilities โ€ข Map and document existing data flows, including sources, pipelines, transformations, and consumers. โ€ข Create methodology guides for recurring analyses to standardize measurement. โ€ข Develop and maintain a dashboard catalog to provide clarity on available data assets. โ€ข Document institutional knowledge from team members into structured, searchable formats. โ€ข Perform ad-hoc data analysis to support business stakeholders. โ€ข Build and maintain dashboards and visualizations using Tableau. โ€ข Write SQL queries against large datasets in cloud data warehouses. โ€ข Translate business questions into analytical approaches and communicate findings. โ€ข Support data quality efforts by identifying anomalies and validating sources. Required Qualifications Experience: 3-5+ years of experience as a Data Analyst. Proven experience in organizing unstructured environments, standardizing processes, and building documentation systems from scratch. Must be able to operate independently, take a vague problem, and determine how to source, use, and explain the relevant data. Technical Skills: Intermediate to advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, window functions, and CTEs in a cloud data warehouse (Redshift preferred). Hands-on experience with Tableau for building and navigating dashboards is required. Familiarity with data wrangling, cleaning messy data, and handling missing values. Communication Skills: Strong technical writing and process documentation abilities. Can produce clear, structured documentation for technical and non-technical audiences. Experience with self-directed information gathering, proactively reaching out to subject matter experts to find answers and connect information. Preferred Qualifications โ€ข Experience in telecom, SaaS, or other large enterprise operations environments. โ€ข Familiarity with IVR/call center data, customer journey analytics, or digital product analytics. โ€ข Experience with Adobe Analytics or similar web analytics platforms. โ€ข Exposure to AI-assisted analysis using tools to accelerate data work (e.g., writing queries, summarizing findings). โ€ข Experience working in teams undergoing transformation, such as mergers or new tooling implementations. โ€ข Exposure to Jira or similar project management tools for ticket-based work intake. Compensation & Benefits For this contract position, the pay rate is $40.00/hr - $70.00/hr.
