Role description
Job Title: Data Analyst / Senior Data Analyst Positions: 2 (Junior & Senior) Industry: Banking Location: London Work Mode: Hybrid (2–3 days WFO) Contract Duration: 6 Months Role Overview: We are looking for skilled Data Analysts and Senior Data Analysts with strong expertise in data modelling, governance, and stakeholder engagement within a banking environment. The ideal candidates will play a key role in shaping data structures, maintaining quality standards, and supporting business decision-making through accurate data insights. Minimum Criteria: • Proficiency in data modelling techniques such as 3NF, Star/Snowflake, and Data Vault 2.0. • Hands-on experience using modern modelling tools (e.g., Erwin, PowerDesigner, Sparx EA) and applying version control. • Proven ability to create and maintain data dictionaries, taxonomies, and reference/master data, including governance for ongoing maintenance. • Experience collaborating with internal business customers to define data-relevant use cases and success criteria. • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, capable of engaging both technical and non-technical audiences. Desirable Criteria: • Exposure to relational and non-relational data stores, data warehouse/lakehouse environments, and ETL/ELT patterns and tools. • Background in business analysis or requirement elicitation for data-centric initiatives, translating business needs into technical models. • Experience documenting and implementing data lineage (e.g., Solidatus) and performing impact analysis. • Understanding of data architecture best practices and ability to define as-is / to-be data processes with gap analysis. • Knowledge of data governance frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK) and practical implementation of data quality rules. • Familiarity with privacy and security-by-design concepts, including handling PII, data minimisation, and RBAC principles.
