Job Title: Data Analyst – Motorsport Racing Analytics Job Description This Data Analyst role focuses on motorsport racing analytics, telemetry analysis, and AI-assisted workflows that directly influence racecar performance. You will work with both live and historical racing data to build dashboards, validate data quality, support training and evaluation workflows, and monitor the performance of automated AI systems used for transcription, summarization, and analysis. You will collaborate closely with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and software developers to translate analytical insights into reliable production workflows that support engineering and race program decision-making throughout the racing season. Responsibilities • Analyze live and historical motorsport racing data to generate insights that support engineering and race program decisions. • Develop, configure, and maintain dashboards in Grafana to visualize telemetry, performance metrics, and AI system outputs. • Perform data validation on production and historical datasets to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability of analytical outputs. • Work with time-series and telemetry data to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies that impact racecar performance. • Apply statistical methods such as t-tests, confidence intervals, regression analysis, control metrics, drift detection, anomaly detection, and segmented error analysis to evaluate models and data quality. • Support the training, evaluation, and monitoring of AI-assisted workflows used for transcription, summarization, and racing data analysis. • Assess and monitor the quality and performance of automated AI systems, identifying issues and recommending improvements. • Collaborate with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and software developers to translate analytical work into robust production workflows. • Contribute to the design and implementation of analytics solutions that integrate seamlessly into race engineering processes. • Document analytical methods, dashboards, and workflows to ensure reproducibility and knowledge sharing within the team. • Participate in continuous improvement efforts to refine metrics, dashboards, and analytical tools that support race day success. Essential Skills • 1–5 years of experience working as a Data Analyst. • Demonstrated passion for and/or experience in motorsports. • Strong proficiency in Python for data analysis, scripting, and workflow automation. • Strong SQL skills for querying, transforming, and validating data from various sources. • Hands-on experience developing dashboards with Grafana. • Experience performing data validation on production and historical datasets. • Experience working with time-series, telemetry, or similar high-frequency datasets. • Working knowledge of statistical methods including t-tests, confidence intervals, regression analysis, control metrics, drift detection, anomaly detection, and segmented error analysis. • Ability to collaborate effectively with Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and software developers in a production environment. • Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with motorsport racing data, race engineering, or related performance analytics. • Familiarity with AI-assisted workflows, including transcription, summarization, and analytical automation. • Experience monitoring and evaluating model quality and performance in production environments. • Interest in contributing to software development efforts that support race day operations and performance. • Ability to communicate complex analytical findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders. • Motivation to work in a competitive, performance-driven environment focused on continuous improvement. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Costa Mesa, CA. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $62.00/hr.
