Role description
Oxford Population Health (the Nuffield Department of Population Health) provides an excellent environment for multi-disciplinary research and teaching and for professional and support staff. UK Biobank is a large-scale biomedical database, the largest of its kind in the world, containing in-depth genetic and health information from half a million UK participants. Together we work to answer some of the most important questions about the causes, prevention and treatment of disease – such as cancer, heart disease and stroke which strike in mid-later life. We are seeking a Data Analyst to help support the UK Biobank study. The main responsibilities involve; • Processing, managing and curating health-related data from a wide variety of sources into the UK Biobank resource. • Producing reports on data handling and procedures • Recording changes to the databases and datasets in a well-structured manner. To be considered you must have; • A Masters in a scientific or numerate subject, or have equivalent relevant work experience. • Ability to write R code for data import & manipulation • A working knowledge of SQL, experience using/processing large or complex datasets • A meticulous approach to data handling and documentation. • A background in academia and/or industry This is a full time, fixed term post (part time considered) for 2 years.
