Data Analyst

Title: Data Analyst Location: Rockville, MD or McLean, VA - 3 days a week onsite mandatory without exception Target Start Date:  ASAP Type: contract Pay Rate: DOE We are seeking a detail-oriented Data Analyst to support reporting, analytics, and operational initiatives across the organization. This role will focus on analyzing data, building reports and dashboards, and supporting internal stakeholders with insights and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills, experience with data tools, and the ability to translate business needs into actionable reporting solutions. Key Responsibilities • Analyze recurring and ad hoc data reports to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring follow-up • Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools such as Power BI or similar platforms • Create and manage datasets, spreadsheets, and databases to support business decision-making • Partner with internal stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver actionable insights • Respond to questions related to internal systems, data, and reporting tools; troubleshoot issues or escalate as needed • Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to organizational standards and procedures • Support special projects related to technology and operations (e.g., system updates, data validation, process improvements) • Provide regular status updates on assigned tasks and projects Required Qualifications • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience • 2+ years of experience in a data analyst or similar role • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Experience with Python or another programming language (e.g., SQL, R) • Hands-on experience with Power BI or similar dashboarding/visualization tools • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data manipulation • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications • Experience working with large datasets and multiple data sources • Familiarity with database structures and data modeling • Experience supporting internal applications or reporting systems • Exposure to business operations or process improvement initiatives Work Environment • Standard office or hybrid work environment • Occasional evening or weekend work may be required based on project needs Welcome to ConsultNet, a premier national provider of technology talent and solutions.
